Position Description

PingWind is looking for a UX Design Specialist to support the Government with incorporating HCD practices to engage stakeholders and users with best practice-driven HCD methodology. The UX Design Specialist will support and build easy-to-use front-ends, reports, and interfaces that meet the customer’s needs.

Primary Responsibilities

· Participate in collaborative design and testing with users to build user-friendly front-ends, reports, and interfaces that serve as a presentation layer on top of data exchanges
· Combine best-practice HCD approach to modernize products while preserving a seamless UX
· Conduct routine, iterative usability testing to continually improve UX and to inform content, IA, design, functionality, and accessibility
· Iteratively apply insights gathered to inform design and development
· Support and/or conduct user acceptance testing on new UI features, content reviews of existing content, IA reviews for global navigation, and design reviews of existing patterns and UI elements to identify and make changes while maintaining a positive UX
· Rapidly craft, test, and deploy design deliverables using approved UX tools (e.g., Axure RP, AxShare, Figma), to facilitate iterative demos and usability testing, progressing from low-fidelity wireframes in greyscale to high-fidelity, clickable prototypes using tools like Axure RP to observe users, gather user testing feedback
· Identify desired functionality and translate requirements into high-level specifications (e.g., wireframes, prototypes, use cases/user stories) within product backlogs
· Conduct HCD activities, design customer-centered solution components, and add stakeholder-approved design features to backlog for incorporation into future sprints
· Conducting user research to identify user personas and understand what the audience wants
· Develop information architecture structuring content to effectively guide users to what is needed

Skills and Experience:

· Axure RP experience preferred
· Excellent problem-solving skills to help identify and analyze problems and take practical actions to creative innovative solutions
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
· Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
· Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
· Ability to work as a team member and independently
· Ability to research, evaluate, analyze, resolve, and present solutions to problems
· Attention to detail
· Proactive in identifying and addressing issues
