Posted 1mo ago

Description

First Circle is one of the fastest growing fintechs in South-East Asia, providing financial services to under-served SMEs. We have already transformed access to credit for thousands of small businesses in the Philippines, and we are now building a full-stack Neobank that will include multi-currency bank accounts, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, payroll.

We have just raised Series B, led by the IFC (the World Bank's investment arm), and we are hiring a Lead Product Designer with creative vision, product intuition, customer-centricity, a strong sense of aesthetic, and extremely high personal standards to deliver exceptional UX.

When we say exceptional UX, we mean it. Small business owners in the Philippines have suffered using poorly designed products for too long. We're changing that. We’re not interested in bland and boring, we want to make the best and most intuitive, customer centric banking experience for our customers, something that feels world class at every step.

Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in designing user-centered products that enhance the overall customer experience, ensuring that our solutions are not only functional but also aesthetically beautiful and seamless.

You will be an advocate for our users, ensuring their needs and preferences are at the forefront of our design process. Designing for businesses is even more challenging than individual consumers, as you'll have to navigate the perspective of multiple different user types. This role isn't for people who like an easy ride!

  • Join our Product team, with deep personal integration in product strategy, setting standards, and team building
  • Building banking products: design the user-experience of our SME NeoBank platform — credit, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, payroll — and adjacent opportunities such as retail banking via Payroll
  • Visual design: own our design aesthetic and visual identity, setting standardsto deliver truly world class CX and UX
  • Research & product discovery: highly customer centric in your approach and collaborate closely with our head of brand to create a highly differentiated brand experience with concepts, wireframes, prototypes, as we rapidly expand our product offering to customers
  • Build systems & grow people: scale design whilst maintaining exceptional standards through the design system and processes, and helping mentor junior talent

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work.
  • You do not need to have held a 'lead' role previously. We are looking a good mix of ability and potential, though you likely have 3-7 years professional design experience.
  • We index very high for building great user experience: examples of designing great experiences for customers on iOS, Android, and web whilst resolving the difficult design questions that came up along the way. We’d love to see the examples from your portfolio that you’re most proud of.
  • Experience of native mobile design for iOS and Android including platform specific design patterns, process flow development and journey mapping.
  • Have strong opinions on what the best looks like across design, UX, strategy, and people
  • Being comfortable operating outside of your comfort zone and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Great attention to detail across everything that you do.
  • Always be seeking feedback and to present your ideas clearly and concisely.

Benefits

  • We don't have a fixed budget for the role. When we find the right person, we will pay them competitively vs their market rate.
  • Hybrid work set-up: 1-2 days per week in our BGC office; remote the rest of the time.
  • Additional perks & benefits including HMO coverage from day one, free catered lunches, MacBook Air provided, monthly fitness allowance, transportation & accommodation allowance, and more
  • Join a team with a deeply collaborative culture - expect support, feedback and friendship.
