Who you are: 
You demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and are adept at managing multiple projects concurrently while prioritizing tasks according to deadlines. Your commitment to continuous learning is evident in your enthusiasm for exploring new design methodologies and processes. You excel in collaborative, team-oriented settings where mutual support and the pursuit of common objectives are essential for achieving success.
 
Your proficiency extends to various design and prototyping tools, including Figma, Sketch, XD, Lucid Chart, Miro, and the Adobe Creative Suite, among others. You possess a comprehensive understanding of UX principles, interaction design, Atomic Design principles, and visual user interface design. Additionally, you are well-versed in accessibility standards and best practices, such as WCAG 2.1, and are capable of articulating design decisions and standards to team members who may not have a design background.
 
You hold a bachelor’s degree in HCI, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent professional experience. With over four years of experience in UX design, you have developed a robust portfolio that highlights your work, including direct involvement in enterprise-level design projects. You have a proven track record of effectively supporting and collaborating with design, product, and engineering teams. Furthermore, you are skilled in conducting UX research, which includes survey analysis, customer interviews, competitive product assessments, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing.
 
What you will do: 
As a UX Designer at GS1 US, you will function in both a supporting role while stepping in and leading design decisions as needed. This role is perfect for those who enjoy learning from technically advanced team members while contributing to design strategies, with opportunities to step into leadership roles on a project-by-project basis.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
  • Work closely with the lead UX Designer, contributing to design strategies that align with business goals and offering essential support to ensure seamless execution.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional design meetings, supporting the Design Team with feedback and contributing insights to improve the overall design strategy.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard design tools; including Figma, Lucid Chart, Webflow, and Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Advocate for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, whiteboarding sessions, and user testing.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems and style guides using ZeroHeight, Figma, and Token Studio, and other emerging design technologies.
  • Participate in cross-functional design meetings, providing design insights and feedback to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Advocate for accessibility standards, responsive design methodologies, and web best practices.
