The Opportunity
As a UX Designer focused on online education, you will play a pivotal role in understanding our students, identifying pain points, and designing intuitive and effective solutions to enhance their experience while studying online.
You will work with cross-functional teams to iterate on and improve existing tools while creating new design solutions that address student needs, with an aim to improve retention rates, student engagement, and satisfaction. Some of the core responsibilities of the role include:
- Enhancing User Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to keep students engaged in the learning process, particularly in remote or online environments.
- Streamlining User Journeys: Design seamless and intuitive experiences to optimize the student journey from enrolment to course completion.
- Ensuring Inclusivity: Implement accessible design practices that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, ensuring inclusivity for all users, including those with diverse learning needs.
- Leveraging Data-Driven Insights: Use user data and research findings to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience.
- Balancing Innovation with Familiarity: Introduce innovative features while maintaining a user interface that is familiar and easy to navigate.
- Managing Diverse User Groups: Working across 5 partners with multiple user groups with varied needs and pain points.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Formal Qualification: A degree or equivalent qualification in UX, Interaction Design, Digital Design, HCI, or a related discipline.
- Strong Portfolio: Demonstrated experience in UX projects with a focus on user-centred design principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency with Design Tools: Advanced proficiency in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar, with familiarity with collaboration tools like Miro as a bonus.
- Research Expertise: Experience conducting and leveraging user research to inform design solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting and documenting design decisions and insights.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to collaborate and build relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Time Management: Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and balance multiple projects effectively.
*Experience working in education technology and online learning is a plus.
