Our mission at Onton is to help people make decisions they love, instantly. We’re tackling the most economically impactful decisions first: the average shopping journey takes 79 days, and we’re taking that to less than 1. Since our public launch in late 2023, we've grown exponentially to guide millions of users to their perfect product.

We recently built the foundation of a neurosymbolic AI agent that learns more about the world on every search. You have the chance to solve equally difficult problems as you scale Onton 10x over the next few months to serve 1B+ searches/year, which is just the beginning.

E-commerce hasn’t changed since the early 2000s. The friction that exists when making purchase decisions online is as much a design problem as a technology problem. As our Founding Product Designer, you’ll stretch your creativity to create category-defining paradigms for product discovery and decision-making, calling on a broad set of design skills to craft emotionally compelling designs, interactions, and prototypes.

You have the opportunity to:

• Own the overall product design and visual identity at Onton.

• Be an equal thought partner in our product and business strategy.

• Help establish our design culture and grow our team.

• Partner closely with engineering, research, and growth to guide your designs across the finish line.

• Develop process to ensure we’re always shipping changes you’re proud of, as often as possible.

• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and shape the future of AI.
  

We expect you to have:

• 3+ years designing consumer software experiences.

• Confidence in designing and leading 0-to-1 initiatives.

• An eye for high-quality, well-crafted visual and interaction design, and a passion for UI details.

• Demonstrated ability to work quickly and iteratively. Design can't be great without learning from usage.

• Proficiency with most aspects of design, capable of designing anything from high-fidelity prototypes to t-shirts.
  

We’d love it if you:

• Have prior experience as a founder or early-stage startup employee.

Location

We are remote (today) but not distant. We operate on Pacific Time. We’re building hubs in San Francisco, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT, so we can connect in person. Our team works 3-days a week in one of the hubs. We’re offering relocation compensation as we build density in these areas. This role is based in the SF office (Jackson Square).

Compensation Range: $160K - $205K
