This job post is over 2 months oldand may no longer be available.
We’re looking for a UI Designer to join our UX Team. You’ll be collaborating with UX Designers, Product Managers and developers to define and produce the user interface of our products.
As a UI Designer, you will be using and contributing to our UI Components library source design files that accelerate the workflows for our UX Designers.
The role also comes with technical responsibility as you will be working closely with the Frontend Developers using our UI Components library, which all of our production teams and third-party app developers use to build the apps on the Tradeshift platform.
What you will be doing:
- Producing the UI design for app interfaces that use our UI Components library based on our platform design principles.
- Be part of the effort of expanding our UI Components library to meet the needs of new product development.
- Work closely with the developers in our UI Components team to implement your design.
- Work with UX Designers to provide them with actionable feedback on their designs to raise our bar for UI design.
- Work closely with the User Experience Architects to align the UI design with the overall design vision for Tradeshift
- Help define, create and improve the tools and processes that accelerate workflows for UX Designers and developers, e.g. Sketch plugins, templates, versioning in Abstract etc.
- Take part in the weekly UX Sync meeting for all the designers in the team.
- Collaborating with frontend-developers across the company to make sure production teams provide a world-class quality of user experience.
- You will work with high-level conceptual sketching as well as high-fidelity prototypes as part of defining UI component design.
About you:
- You have a formal, educational background in design.
- Proven work experience in the field. However, we care more about the quality of your recent work than your ability to show you did great design five years ago.
- You have experience and success in working with teams of developers.
- You are familiar and comfortable working with agile design and development processes.
- Design experience with B2B applications and complex workflows is a plus.
- You have a structured and analytical approach to your work and you always have a plan for reaching the finish line.
- Experience working with or even creating UI Component libraries is a benefit.
- Knowledge of web technologies – you don’t get scared when people talk about REST APIs, databases, client-side templating, responsive design, etc. We don’t need you to be a developer, but you’ll spend a ton of time with developers, so some common ground is required.
- You speak and write English fluently.
- Best in class when it comes to tools like Sketch and InVision.
- Some actual web development skills will come in handy (HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.)
