What's the Opportunity?
We're looking for a summer intern to join our Product Design team! Our tools help elevate the employee experience by transforming employee voices into conversation, understanding, and positive change. We’re in the business of creating awesome work environments—and are committed to being one also.
You'll work with a small multi-disciplinary team, partnering closely with engineering, product, and business folks to find practical solutions to design problems. Together, you'll solve problems and come up with solutions that delight our users. You'll be expected to take full ownership of your work with support from the Director of Product Design, as needed. You'll rapidly prototype and learn by making, knowing when to apply low and high fidelity. Better yet, you’ll see your work all the way through to production, measuring impact with real users and learning what it means to be a full-time product designer!
This is a summer internship lasting 10 weeks starting in June, located onsite in Omaha, NE.
You can expect to work 30 hours per week, between the hours of 9am - 2pm. The starting wage is $19/hour.
You Will:
- Sample a variety of functions within Product Design, including user research and testing, wire framing and prototyping, and front-end development (HTML/CSS).
- Join a product feature team (we call them Squads) to deliver a product that makes work better for our customers.
- Collaborate with the Product Designer on your squad to guide the user experience throughout the product development lifecycle, balancing discovery and delivery.
- Be an advocate for our users. You’ll understand their needs and motivations first, and make sure we’re delivering value to them.
- Partner with other Product Designers to create a purposeful and cohesive experience for our users.
- Contribute to our design system and the visual direction of our product.
- Experience an Agile environment. We pride ourselves on being nimble. You will see your work shipped and be used by customers.
- Work with a Design Mentor to develop skills, find your niche within the design field, and polish your resume and portfolio.

- Desire to learn. You understand design fundamentals and technology, but you’re hungry to level up your skills.
- Passion for design. You care about visual and interaction details and can communicate the value of design to stakeholders.
- A team player. Design collaborates with other disciplines including product management, engineering, and customer success.
- Curiosity and empathy. Our users are at the heart of everything we do, so we need to understand their motivations and pain points.
- A growth mindset. Willingness to own problems. Comfort with ambiguity. A desire to make things better. A balanced sense of optimism and humility.
